DAY 12
1. Daily Affirmation:
“I am beautifully and wonderfully made”
It has baffled me at times how we can choose to treat our bodies. If our body “is a temple,” we surely do not treat it that way. There is some sort of mental block or ignorance that allows us to continue with our poor eating habits and still believe that it won’t affect us in the long run. I have been there, so I can speak of this first hand. Small and gradual change is the best way to conquer this for some people, and for others it’s sudden, extreme action.
For the person who does better with gradual change, start with replacing one meal at a time for a 4-6 week period. For instance, promise yourself that instead of eating cereal and coffee for breakfast you will have a large fruit and greens smoothie. Then move onto replacing your lunch with a BIG, nutrient dense salad and so on.
For those that would rather “just do it,” you may want to commit to buying a grocery list worth of raw and living produce and eat it exclusively. You can start with a list from a week of this cleanse. In both cases, you can include one meal a day that is not raw. I like to eat mostly vegetarian cooked dinners with grains such a as quinoa and millet and limited dairy and meat. We need to begin honoring our bodies, the only ones we will receive. They are a gift from our Creator and not our own.
