I confess. I cheated. Last night my sister came into town and we went out to dinner. I had already eaten all of the food on the cleanse but I was still HUNGRY! I went ahead and ordered a veggie burger from OK Cafe. They’re so good, I’m sure Miss Raw Foods USA herself would have been tempted. So I may not be the fearless leader you hoped for, but I AM honest…
DAY 9:
1. Daily Affirmation:
“I have the ability to choose wisely and forgive myself when I don’t.”
This is not a green light to cheat on your cleanse, but do know that we all have moments of weakness, especially as you go into week 2 of this cleanse. If you feel the need to eat cooked food, try to make sure it is not for every meal and that it is a plant-based, nutrient dense choice such as beans, quinoa, millet, lentils, brown rice, or lightly steamed or sauted veggies. I would rather you stick to this cleanse than avoid cooked food altogether. If you feel led to continue all raw, then definitely do that. But I would rather you continue eating foods rich in nutrients (that just happened to be cooked) than to give up your entire goal. I personally will be back to ALL raw foods today and will NOT be tempting myself with delicious Southern cuisine again!
2. Daily Menu

3. Daily Questions:
Has anyone not cheated at all?
Did anyone have difficulty finding the Thai coconut?
I kept everything the same except I cooked a little quinoa and steamed some veggies, the. Out it over greens with some black beans. It tasted so nice to have something cooked! I plan to finish strong with maybe just altering a few salads like this!
I haven’t cheated! But I’ve wanted to a couple times, cheese lures me and pastries too. But I’m holding strong, it’s only for one more week! DFM didn’t have the thai coconut when i was there, but I got one from Sevananda that looks like what you’re talking about!
You’re my hero, Christi! I love how you’re owning this. 🙂 I had a successful Day 9 after my Day 8 “fall” so I’m back with ya!
yep … I cheated yesterday night, my first cheat and plan on cheating today too …we have guests and are celebrating two birthdays … but I will back on track after the birthday cake … a promise to myself and for myself … I do not consider the cleanse a short time experience, I plan on it being a lifestyle … so I can forgive myself for cheating a little bit this weekend.
I get thai coconuts at the International Market in Decatur … i always have www. VitaCoco.com water in the fridge … it has been flash pasteurized for 2 sec at 120 dgr – so it is not raw – but it is a wonderful treat, way better than coca coloa.
It’s alright, Janne. Just get back on the train. 🙂 You’re right…it’s a long term commitment and lifestyle!
