This 3-day cancer fighting meal plan is what I used to help my body heal from cancer 10 years ago. It is loaded with anti-cancer fighting recipes and I think you’ll find it so helpful!
Just the other night a friend here in Atlanta who is healing from her breast cancer naturally texted me to ask if she could talk with me “real quick.” I had a brief moment between diaper changes and cleaning green smoothie off of my kitchen blinds, so I snuck off to the garage to sit on my rebounder and call her. (I should have been bouncing but I had no idea how serious the call might be…)
Basically, this is what she said: “I NEED YOU TO TELL ME WHAT TO EAT!”
I smiled, a bit puzzled and ask her “OK, liiiiike…you need to know what’s OK to eat, or you need me to give you some ideas…?”
“No,” she said. “I need you to tell me what I should eat RIGHT NOW. I just can’t think of food and what to eat and I’m starving and my kitchen is a mess from cooking for my family and I just can’t have anymore of the same thing I’ve been eating. And I’m about to just eat a pound of almonds again because they don’t require any chopping or messing up another dish or kitchen appliance!”
I smiled at her honesty and empathized. I’ve SOOO been here. Being the mom while healing cancer naturally is SUPER HARD. You still have your role as “mom” and everyone is still depending on us for food, love, hygiene…EVERYTHING and often it is exhausting to take care of yourself and your high maintenance and time consuming diet.
I remember MANY TIMES (and I actually still want this some days) wanting to just hook myself up to a feeding tube that will download green smoothie and juices into my body while I sit and read a magazine for 5 minutes. (This is partly why I LOVE green veggie smoothies– it’s the closest to a feeding tube I’m going to get!)
I told her in that moment to cut open an avocado and put sea salt on it and have some almonds, too. (Just not a pound of them) to get her through that night. Then I told her she needs a plan. Everyday she needs to wake up early and make sure her food is set and prepared.
This 3-Day Cancer Fighting Meal Plan is a great place for all of us to start. You can also check out my other posts in this series (I originally wrote in 2011) about healing cancer with alternative therapies.

As always, play around with the ingredients to your liking! This just happens to be a general idea of what I ate while beating cancer with alternative/nutritional/holistic therapies, specifically the Bill Henderson Protocol from his book: “Cancer-Free: Your Guide to Gentle, Non-toxic Healing.”
Diagnosis with prostate cancer 2009 psa was 9.63 gave up all sugar and dairy, psa still at 5.6 2018 is it ok to have honey are stevia, uses the budwig diet.never had sugery doing great
It’s up to you! Honey should be fine in moderation.
Can you please tell me if you used a certain Sprouted Ezekiel Bread, they almost all have a little bit of organic wheat gluten in them. In Bill’s book he said he used a gluten free one? I was wondering what you used specifically. Thank you so much for you time!
The orange original. Yes, gluten wasn’t so much of a bad thing in 2008! 😉
Confused. Is this a one time only 3 day diet, or did you continue the CCFO over a longer period of time?
This is a short meal plan that you can repeat over and over again. 🙂
For lunch I do more of a fruit smoothie (berries + spinach + walnuts + water) and even that is filling for me after the CCFO morning. I have no idea how you can down 64 oz of thick liquid?! Is it like cool soup?
YEP- like a cool soup. And it’s not that thick. Less avocado makes it easier to drink.
hi Cortney. i’m so happy to found your website. i’m gonna start my alternative treatment. I hope I can eat fully raw but it’s so hard to say goodbye to rice 🙁
it’s also hard to found organic food here. I need to find it from another town but thank good they provide online shopping.
btw is it really okay to drink green tea? before I love to trink them but now i’m kinda relctant cos of the caffein.
Hi – thanks for the menu – I have been on the BHP for about 2.5 years now – I have not done a lot of juicing, but rather stayed off the sugar , meats , gluten, process foods, and lactose – I do the budwig every morning and take the supplements – I have ovarian cancer . My CA 125 count has gone up and I am going to do the juicing and salad for supper routine. Do you make you own lentil and bean sprouts – I am not close to a health food store to get these – can you use canned beans and lentils- Nancy
Greetings,
Thanks for taking the time to make all this information available.
I have been drinking a carrot, apple, kale, juice first (15-20 min.) before consuming the flax oil cottage cheese mix. Do you have an opinion about this. I have read that antioxidants should not be taken too close to the FO/CC. This juice is full of antioxidants.
Thanks
Diane
Hi Diane, I do recall reading Dr. Budwig discuss that but my memory is rusty. Can you just put the juice off until later just in case? Or do the research and figure that out. I’m curious too. I always did and still do my meals in this order: Budwig, piece of fruit for morning snack, lunch smoothie, veggie juice or nuts or fruit for afternoon snack (or both) and then a salad or whole foods dinner.
Im glad I finally found your blog! I have been reading on the gerson therapy and I knew someone had to beat cancer while still working. IT’s not possible for average person working check to check to quit work and complete the 2 yrs of gerson requirement. Your story has given me a lot more hope. Thanks
Hi Russell, YES- I totally worked full time during my treatment. I don’t know how I could have done full Gerson while teaching 30 10 year olds. THAT would have been interesting! 😉
I have been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in my bones and lymphs. I am estrogen positive and her2 negative. As with metastatic cancers, this is not my first rodeo. The first time around I went thru chemo, double mastectomy , and reconstruction. I am now being faced with no chemo, but drugs that have overwhelming side effects. Since this is my second time facing cancer, is it advisable to try HHI? Also, could you recommend an oncologist such as you had to help me explore a different avenue? Although I live in Portland Oregon, I am willing to travel. Thank you!
Hey Stephanie, I am so sorry to hear you’re having to go through all of this again. HHI would be a fantastic RETREAT for learning more about how to eat, receiving some therapies that can boost your body’s healing abilities, and overall detox. But, if I were you I would focus on finding local support FIRST. I actually came across this place (http://www.immersionhealthpdx.com/) the other day, thinking it looked awesome. Maybe you could give them a call? 🙂 Best to you!
Where did you buy your Essiac Tea from? I’ve heard you have to be very careful where you get it. Thank you,
Kaye
Love, love your site. You explain everything so simply…thank you for such valuable information.
I just have one question on the dosages and measurements for the Essiac Tea. How much of each do you mix? I don’t want to overdo it…especially since I am just starting to incorporate this into my cancer fighting protocol. I know the bottle says 1 oz Essiac to 2 oz of Hot Water…is that really enough?
Thank you.
Hi Patricia! I always followed the directions on the bottle exactly. 🙂
Hi Cortney, thank you for this information and taking the time to share this. Having read your blog, I know you are a very busy person. I usually drink a liter of lemon water with cayenne pepper first thing in the morning. Would doing this interfere with the essiac tea? Should I drink the liter of water after the essiac tea, ccfo, and green tea? Thank you, again, for your time.
Hmmmm…I don’t think so, but maybe give it 15 or 30 minutes between drinking that and the essiac.
Thanks for the suggestions. I’m allergic to raw carrots (my lips tingle, my throat swells up, and I itch) and I am trying to continue working as a teacher while treating my breast cancer naturally. I have no breaks during the school day and my lunch time is very short. I have trouble getting my salad wolfed down in the time available. Can any of this be made ahead and still work effectively? I’ve lost 35 pounds in 9 months, perhaps because there is so little I feel I can still eat. Any suggestions are welcome.
I am thanking God that I still feel well enough to work and am not in any pain. My tumor is continuing to grow after 9 months of BHP with FOCC every morning, 3 months of 2 cups per day Essiac Tea, biological dentistry, colonic hydrotherapy, zapping and 3 rounds in the Life Vessel (electro medicine). Any thoughts on what I should try next?
Hi Carol- I taught school as well! Here’s a post I wrote about following my cancer protocol while teaching: https://www.anticancermom.com/a-day-in-the-life-fighting-cancer-my-way/
YES_ the smoothies and salads can be made in advance. My best advice is to keep it simple: stick to the basic protocol and then add additional treatments as needed.
Hi Carol,
My daughter was allergic to carrots (and apples) but for some reason juicing them (cautiously at first) seemed to be totally fine for her. Normally she would get itchy lips/tongue if she ate raw carrots or apples but both are part of her daily protocol and have not been a problem for her. Miracle maybe but perhaps its the juicing of these items that allows her body just to absorb the nutrients and not have to digest the fiber associated with it if she were to eat it.
Hope this helps and hope your doing well!
Love this! Thank you for sharing!
