This is the beginning of a growing list of Atlanta holistic and alternative doctors, naturopaths, and other resources that are supportive of natural and integrative healing from cancer as well as other healing. I will update this page as often as I receive positive recommendations from you all and have my own experiences.
I get asked ALL THE TIME who I recommend for alternative and holistic practitioners in the Atlanta area. When I healed my cancer naturally back in 2008-2009, I wanted to know the same. Check back often because I will update this as I hear of more positive stories and experiences with new doctors.
Side note: You may also like my list of Atlanta Area Vaccine Friendly, Holistic Pediatricians.
Anyone else have any Atlanta holistic and alternative doctors you love? Add your suggestion to the comments and I’ll add it to the post!
Atlanta Holistic and Alternative Doctors
A big thank you to my sweet friend Christine Holcomb with HealingStrong for compiling the beginnings of this list. For those of you don’t know, there are seven Atlanta area HealingStrong Natural Healing Support Groups as of this writing. Our meetings are unlike any you will find in regards to holistic healing support and community as well as holistic nutrition information, local wellness speakers, and resources.
You can find group leader contact information by going to this page and searching the map for a group closest to you! We also have over 130 other groups nationwide and overseas you can search for as well.
Atlanta Holistic and Alternative Doctors (also for Cancer)

Website: www.anjasonst.com
Note: I am adding Dr. Anja in at the top of this list because she specializes exclusively in supporting those with cancer through her holistic cancer coaching program. All meetings with her take place during online video sessions and email correspondence. Anja and I have been friends and neighbors for four years and she is a great friend and like-minded natural health advocate. You can visit her website and view her coaching packages HERE. She offers a free consultation which you can sign up for HERE.

Dr. Rhett Bergeron, MD
555 Sun Valley Drive, Bldg. D Ste. D4 Roswell, GA 30076
Phone: 678-990-5401 Fax: 678-990-5405
Email: info@realhealthmedical.com
Website: www.RealHealthMedical.com
Note: I saw Dr. Bergeron several years ago for cancer monitoring. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a large staff to handle what I imagine is a large patient base. He also has great experience in dealing with alternative methods for healing cancer and also support and monitoring. If you call as a cancer patient, you will first talk to a staff member who receives all of your information and talks to you about what to expect. Again- this was in 2013 so things may have changed in 5 years. If you have any experience with Dr. Bergeron’s office, feel free to leave it in the comments. Long wait to get in (months) as a first time patient so if you’re thinking about it, you might want to go ahead and make the appointment and can cancel with appropriate notice if needed.

Note: I have not seen Dr. Cardwell personally but did see his former partner in their practice before she retired. She told me they often get referred to from Cancer Center Treatments of America when the patient has exhausted their treatment options. Dr. Cardwell is experienced with advanced cancer patients, IV therapies, and dietary therapies. Great personal experience at this office but can be a long wait to get in as a new patient. Call to check.

Dr. William Richardson, MD
1343 Terrell Mill Rd. Suite #100, Marietta, GA 30067
Phone: 770-419-4471 Fax: 678-818-4618
E-Mail: info@acpm.net
Website: https://www.acpm.net/
Note: I don’t have any personal experience with Dr. Richardson, but just reading his practice’s about page makes me want to go have an organic lunch with him and his staff. Love his philosophy. From the looks of his website, his clinic offers chelation therapy, IV therapy, complete cancer therapy program, dietary coaching, etc. Update: Word is that Dr. Richardson has retired but his practice is continuing with other like minded practitioners.

Dr. Ellie Campbell, DO

E-Mail: info@campbellfamilymedicine.com
Website: www.campbellfamilymedicine.com
Note: Must join membership- but does thermography separately and consults. Double Board certified in Family and Alternative. Not sure if she still does them, but she does “meet and greet” walking club every month or so to chat with interested patients. Call for more info or visit website. More for integrative care of non-cancer patients than holistic cancer support.

E-mail: stacie@thegenesiscenter.com
Website: www.thegenesiscenter.com
Note: Dr. Sloan and his team lead up The Genesis Health Center. I know that they do natural IV’s (Vitamin C, hydroperoxide, etc) in their practice along with hyperbaric chambers, and thermography, with a focus on the ketogenic diet for cancer. They also do alternative monitoring such as the Greece Test.

1401 Dresden Drive Atlanta, GA 30319
Phone: 404-814-9808
E-Mail: admin@centrespringmd.com
Website: www.CentreSpringmd.com
Note: Dr. Grossman is the former director of palliative care and later created and led the supportive and integrative oncology program through Winship Cancer Institute. CentreSpring is a large integrative and holistic practice headed up by Dr. Taz Bhatia (nationally known physician.) I have no personal experience with this practice but it is a popular choice amongst naturally minded people in Atlanta. Would recommend for integrative care.

Note: I know about Dr. Jue from the ladies at our Gainesville, GA HealingStrong group and have heard her spoken about in a positive light many times. Dr. Jonathan Stegall, MD
The Center for Advanced Medicine
3333 Old Milton Parkway Suite 560
Alpharetta, GA 30005
Phone: (770) 551-2730
Email: info@drstegall.com
Website: www.drstegall.com
Note: I have personally seen Dr. Stegall several times a few years ago. He is an extremely compassionate doctor, easy to talk to and patient. I do not believe he is currently taking new patients but give them a call to find out. He is in the process of opening up a newer, larger office to accommodate more people. He takes a “whole person” approach addressing the mind and body. IPT (insulin-potentiation-therapy) chemotherapy is a tool I know he primarily recommends to many of the people I have referred to him. I would definitely say he is more “integrative” than completely “holistic” in his practice. He does offer alternative monitoring options such as the Greece Test and Oncoblot (once it becomes available again.)

Note: It’s been a year or two since I last spoke with Dr. Jockers, but I believe he is seeing minimal new patients at this point and time. He has a staff that he hired personally doing the work he is passionate about. Strong proponent of the ketogenic diet for wellness and cancer. Really great guy. His office would be a great support system for overall wellness.

Biological Dentists
*********************************************
Dr. Carol Berman DDS and Dr. Dressler DDS
5675 Jimmy Carter Blvd Norcross, GA 30071
Phone: 770- 729-1222
Note: Dr. Dressler was practically the king of biological dentistry in Atlanta. He has been doing it for a long time and Dr. Berman has taken over the majority of the practice for him. In early 2009, a few months after I was diagnosed with cancer I saw Dr. Dressler to address my root canal that I wanted removed. He was so thorough with my situation, having me see a bioenergetic practitioner (see Millie Holliday below) before removing anything. The night before my procedure to remove my root canal I found out I was pregnant and had to cancel my appointment and they did not charge me a cancellation fee and congratulated me (although I was still a bit freaked out at that point to be pregnant with cancer!) I have met Dr. Carol Berman several times and have watched her speak. Great lady and very dedicated to her practice. Highly recommend!

Website: www.canndentistry.com
Note: Completely holistic dentist. Uses Ozone for cleaning out dental work. Works with Millie Holliday (bioenergetic practitioner- see below) to determine compatible material for replacement. She is the friend of several of my close friends and extremely popular in the Atlanta area amongst naturally-minded people.

Dr. Deborah King, DDS
Buckhead Dental Care
2964 Peachtree Rd NW #340, Atlanta, GA 30305
Phone: (404) 239-9566
Website: www.buckheaddentalcare.com
Note: Dr. King has been our family’s personal dentist for years. We moved outside of Atlanta and don’t see her as much (and admittedly don’t go to the dentist much thanks to a sugar free, high plant diet and Sonicare toothbrushes,) but I still highly recommend her practice. Expect a hybrid/ more integrative approach there. Super kind staff, loving environment but still fluoride toothpaste (boo.) Dr. King removed all of my husband’s mercury fillings safely and worked with us with a family rate when my oldest daughter saw her for cleanings as well since we were self-pay. When my youngest daughter chipped her baby tooth on a brick step last month we called the office to ask what to do and they gave me Dr. King’s cell phone to text pictures to. Ann at the front desk is an angel, too!

Note: I follow her on Facebook and love her philosophy. 🙂 Call for an idea exactly of what her practice offers. Her website is a bit confusing but if any of these topics interest you, she’s your girl: Buteyko Method, Myobrace, Oral Cosmetic Dentistry, Extraction, Periodontic.

Millicent Holliday, Holistic Registered Nurse (RN), BioEnergetic Practitioner
5672 Peachtree Parkway, Suite H Norcross, GA 30092
Telephone: 770-446- 1140
Website: quintessentialhealth.net
Note: I personally saw Millie Holiday about ten years ago and she is excellent at what she does. She tested my root canal tooth and the surrounding cavitation areas and jaw bone before I committed to root canal removal surgery. What she found was actually NOT problematic, but wanting to cover all of our bases with my holistic cancer treatment, we went ahead and schedule the removal anyways. After discovering I was pregnant did not go through with the procedure, and it has now been ten years and I still have that root canal tooth with no problems. Her assessment has been reassuring to me all of these years that I am ok. I’d actually love to go back and see how my tests compare ten years later.
From her website: BioEnergetic Assessment (BEA), also known as a Meridian Stress Assessment or Electro Acupuncture According to Voll, is a non-invasive, computer-based system designed to measure the energetic health of specific organs and systems using acupuncture points on the hands and feet.

Living Food Institute
(ask for Healing Strong discount)
1700 Commerce Dr. NW Ste. 100, Atlanta, GA 30318
Phone: (404) 524-4488
Website: www.livingfoodinstitute.com
Note: I attended the Living Foods Institute in 2008 when it was a very different place than it is now. In 2008 it was located in a crowded, small, run-down 50-year-old building across from the MARTA line in East Atlanta with one bathroom equipped with a Squatty Potty next to the colonics room. LoL- can you picture it?!
Today it is MUCH nicer and in a new, much larger, renovated facility in Westside Atlanta. Kudos to them for getting started where they could and pushing through the unideal facility situation.
The skills I learned at LFI around the culture of raw and living foods was priceless, but the community was what I loved the most. Several people I met there I am still in touch with ten years later and Jane’s teaching on emotional healing was beautiful. My husband and I paid a lot of money when we went there for with the “gold” package. I think we paid ~$10,000 for the two of us for 12 days (which was actually 10 days with two half days.) I’m not sure how they structure it today, but ask lots of questions, ask for a “scholarship” – which everyone I have ever asked who goes there seems to “get.”
My best advice would be to buy the basic package of JUST the food class and emotional healing classes and buy your therapies, such as colonics a la carte. Reflexology with Johnny is a MUST. Buy 1,000 sessions with him and you won’t regret it! 😉
Overall, my experience here was fantastic although the spirituality (if you’re a Christian) can get a little new agey at times. Take what you want in and leave the rest. There were people of all faiths there and we sang hymns, played Amazing Grace on the flute to the wheatgrass (yes- I really did this! LoL,) and many people prayed. It was a lovely time filled with healing, lots of gagging from newly introduced foods that we ended up appreciating in the long run, and an experience I am still grateful for ten years later. I’m grateful to have had a place nearby to have detoxed, learned about foods that heal, and met wonderful people.

Atlanta Colonics and Massage
6710 Jamestown Dr, Alpharetta, GA 30005
Phone: (770) 558-6900
Website: https://atlantacolonicmassagespa.com/
Note: This place rocks my socks. I love everything they stand for as far as health and wellness goes. Theresa and her team are incredibly professional and help you feel comfortable with an uncomfortable endeavor: hydro-COLON therapy. You can buy colonics in a package (I recommend AT LEAST three and ideally five to start!) and the massages I have had here have been heavenly (my favorite massage therapist is Beth- she is a healer! Ask for cupping too!) HIGHLY recommend!

Dr. Bradford Bootstaylor, MD
See Baby Midwifery
550 Peachtree St NE #1165 Atlanta, GA 30308
Phone: (404) 223-9306
Website: www.seebaby.org
Note: Dr. Bootstaylor (or Dr. B as most call him) is an extraordinary doctor. I have never met such a calm and relaxed practitioner with such gentle ways about him. When I had a missed miscarriage back in 2012, he was the person to explain to us what was going on and reassured my husband and me that I could wait to miscarry and a D&C wasn’t urgent. (You can read that entire story HERE.) He now heads up See Baby Midwifery which I do not have personal experience with but based on our experience with Dr. Bootstaylor, I imagine is excellent as well.

Intown Midwifery
Medical Building C, 340 Boulevard NE, Atlanta, GA 30312
Phone: (404) 622-9810
Website: www.intownmidwifery.com
Note: I used Intown Midwifery for the birth of my second baby. I loved all of the midwives I saw there. They were caring, knowledgeable, and supportive of my natural birth decision. It is an extremely popular practice so sometimes wait times got long but it was mostly within 30 minutes of my appointment time. I did not love delivering at Atlanta Medical Center but thankfully their policy was that you only had to stay 24 hours to be check out.

Note: Brenda was my homebirth midwife for my third birth. I wrote about my experience HERE. You cannot beat the prenatal care of a homebirth midwife. She was wonderful as was her office which was professionally set up in the basement of her home. Highly recommend, especially if wanting a completely hands-off birth experience or water birth.

Addition: Mark Hancock, MD at Humanizing Medicine in Decatur, GA (right beside Avondale Estates). Provides Anthroposophic Medicine, Mistletoe Therapy and more.
Great! Will approve here and try to update! 🙂
Dr. Richardson has retired. There are 2 other doctors there now that I haven’t personally met. FYI Dr. Richardson is a hard core vegan so if you’re not willing to embrace that eating philosophy, you will get some push back (at least when he did the patient evaluations). The good thing about this place is that they can access your port for the different IV infusions.
