Atlanta Vaccine Friendly Pediatricians: List of Non-Vax, Delayed Schedule, and Holistic Doctors

atlanta-skyline

I am so happy to get this list of Atlanta Vaccine Friendly Pediatricians out there to you guys!

Many of these suggestions came from the experiences and research of wonderful and dedicated naturally-minded moms in the Atlanta metro community. Through our connections over social media and local meetups, we have been able to share our experiences about which doctors are accepting of our precious kiddos’ unvaccinated or delayed vaccination status and respectful of our wishes to care for our children in the ways we believe is best.

If you are looking for vaccine friendly doctors in other states, please see Dr. Sears complete list of vaccine friendly doctors.

If you are looking for Atlanta area holistic physicians for adults, you can check out my post on Atlanta Holistic and Alternative Doctors and Doctors for Cancer (and overall wellness.)

Feel free to post your questions, suggestions, and experiences in the comment section for myself and other moms (and dads) who come along!

And if you haven’t seen it yet, I am in the middle of an ongoing vaccine series on how we made our decision about which vaccines to give our children. You can find that entire series below:

Part 1: Our Vaccine Choice: Risks, Benefits, Responsibility

Part 2: Hepatitis B and Hib Vaccines

Part 3: Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis Vaccine

Part 4: Polio and the Polio Vaccine

Part 5: Pneumococcal Vaccine

Part 6: Rotavirus Vaccine

Part 7: Measles + MMR

Part 8: Mumps, Rubella + MMR

Part 9: Influenza Vaccine

Atlanta Vaccine Friendly Pediatricians

Note: the best way to find a provider in your area is to use the search option on your computer (Command or Control key + F) and type in your city or a city near you. You can also scroll and search.

I update this post frequently, so if you have anything to add please leave a comment in the section at the bottom. It takes a village, especially when dealing with vaccine education and choice. 🙂

Brookhaven Intown Pediatrics

Brookhaven and Atlanta, GA

Dr. LaKimberly Price, MD

Deneta Sells, MD

www.intownpediatrics.com

Note: Non-and delayed vaccine friendly but you do have to sign a consent form (called and confirmed this with the very friendly receptionist.) **Update 2/21/2021: Intown Pediatrics are no longer taking delayed or non-vax patients.

****************************************************

Rainbow Pediatrics

Dr. Carol Hermann, MD

Decatur, GA

www.rbkdoc.com/

Note: Only delay or select vax. Focused on optimal diet but does require four vaccines to stay in her practice: Hep A, DTaP, PcV and Hib (I called and received this information from the receptionist.)

****************************************************

Centrespring MD + Pediatrics

Johns Creek, GA + Brookhaven, GA

www.centrespringmd.com/pediatrics

Note: Holistic and integrative practice. Vaccine-choice friendly. Do not make you sign vaccine waiver. Very busy as Dr. Taz is a nationally recognized doctor and has an adult practice as well. Does not take insurance but you can pay for a monthly “concierge” membership which includes a number of sick and well visits.

****************************************************

All Worlds Health and Pediatrics

Roswell, GA

Dr. Arlene Dijamco, MD

www.allworldshealth.com

Note: Dr. Dijamco does not offer vaccination as part of her practice, and includes craniosacral therapy, homeopathy, herbal remedies, diet changes, and emotional considerations as suggestions and options for treatment. She does not take insurance but you can be reimbursed for any lab testing if needed.

All of the services I’ve received from her were reimbursable through the insurance-alternative we use, Samaritan Ministries.

****************************************************

The M Wellness Center

Roswell, GA

Dr. Maia Walton, MD

Dr. Monica Scales, PHd

www.themwellnesscenter.com

Note: I’m impressed with the amount of holistic care they provide, as they are both mothers of vaccine-injured children. I will update with more as I hear from other moms. They have just opened their practice as of 2018 here in Georgia, moving from California. Lots to read on their website about their philosophy! They DO accept insurance but you will handle the bill yourself with the superbill they give you at check out. Their appointments are longer than a usual in-network doctor appointment (initial visit is 2 hours!)

****************************************************

Alpharetta Pediatrics

Alpharetta, GA

Laura Bleekrode, MD

Niccole Edwins, CNP certified in homeopathy and essential oils

www.alpharettapediatricsonline.com

Note: If considering non-vax ask to see the Nurse Practitioner, Niccole. Dr. Bleekrode is seemingly friendlier with delayed-vax parents rather than non-vax.

****************************************************

One Family Pediatrics

**Updated 7/2020: Just got word that they are no longer taking unvaccinated patients. Call to confirm.**

Cumming, GA

Dr. Hiral Lavania, MD

www.onefamilypediatrics.com

****************************************************

Primary Care Pediatrics

Cumming, GA

Dr. Margaret Boudreaux, MD

www.primarycarepediatrics.com/

Note: Highly recommended by many of my personal friends. Dr. Boudreaux is a mother of six and knowledgeable of alternative medicine, nutrition, and proper supplements. Vaccine-choice friendly.

****************************************************

Family Wellness MD

Dr. Nadia Taylor

Duluth, GA

www.familywellnessmd.com

Note: Holistic and integrative practice. Vaccine-choice friendly.

****************************************************

Sunshine Pediatrics

Dr. Dana Hogan

Watkinsville, GA

www.sunshine-pediatrics.com

Note: Dr. Hogan considers herself a “holistic” pediatrician and does include dietary allergen testing as part of her practice. She is slow to prescribe antibiotics as a first option for treatment but does use vaccines as part of her preventative care.

**Update: 2/21/2021. I have gotten a few reports that Sunshine Peds is no longer serving unvaccinated families. I called and asked if they would take a delayed vaccine or non-vaccinated child as a new patient and the very kind receptionist said that “they are currently not accepting new patient on a delayed schedule but are serving current patients.” She was not sure if they are going to reopen to new non-vax or delayed patients but they WILL take families who will fully vaccinate on the CDC schedule.

****************************************************

All About Kids Pediatrics

Lawrenceville, GA

Jill Overcash, MD

Claire Wilkiemeyer, MD

www.AllAboutKidsGeorgia.com

Note: (from their website) “All About Kids Pediatrics is a small practice with three pediatricians who are also moms. We want to know you and your child and we will strive to take the drama out of doctor visits. We are “vaccine friendly”, which means our pediatricians make an extra commitment to provide extensive counseling on vaccines and to accommodate all requests and concerns in regard to vaccines.”

***One mom noted recently in the comments that they now require you to sign the vaccine consent form when declining vaccines.

****************************************************

Kennesaw Pediatrics

Kennesaw, GA

www.kennesawpediatrics.com

Note: Kennesaw Pediatrics has a large staff of doctors. We saw them after our home birth to receive the required Georgia newborn testing. They are a conventional practice and did prompt us about vaccines but did not disrespect us about our decision. I have heard good things about them from other non-vax and delayed vax parents.

****************************************************

Children’s Pediatrics

Canton, GA

Dr. Michael Anderson, MD

Stephanie Anderson, DNP

www.childrenspediatrics.com

****************************************************

Pediatric Medicine of Cartersville

Cartersville, GA

Tom Ryan, MD

www.pediatricmedicinecartersville.com

Note: Dr. Ryan is understanding and supportive of parental concerns with vaccines and the current vaccine schedule. You can see his statement on this HERE.

****************************************************

Westcare Pediatrics

Villa Rica, GA

www.westcarepeds.com

Note: Dr. Josephine Ediale only

****************************************************

Vibrant Kids Pediatrics

Newnan, GA

Dr. Jill Dickerson

www.vibrantkids.us

****************************************************

Kenneth Akey, MD

Newnan, GA

www.kennethakeymd.com

Note: I have heard WONDERFUL thing about Dr. Akey from several people. He recently moved to Georgia from the mandatory-vaccination state of California to be closer to his children and grandchildren and to practice medicine in the form he believes is best which is preventative care and individual choice.

Additional Practices (need more information)

The following practices were given to me by my homebirth midwife who keeps a list of “vax-choice tolerable” doctors her homebirth clients have used for their newborn checkups and pediatric care. Here are those additional practices, and I would love to hear if you have any experience with them in the comments below. I update this post frequently so I can remove or add doctors if needed.

****************************************************

John Potts, MD

Fayetteville, McDonough, and Hampton, GA (3 offices)

770-461-5003

Note: Need to hear experiences from more families who go here but apparently “vax-choice” tolerable.

****************************************************

Covenant Care Pediatrics

Dr. Patrick Pulliam

Stockbridge, GA

www.covenantcarepediatrics.com/

Note: Need to hear experiences from more families who go here but apparently “vax-choice” tolerable.

****************************************************

Pediatric Partners of Georgia

Ingrid Newman, MD

Watkinsville or Bogart, GA

http://www.pediatricpartnersga.com/about.html

Note: Need to hear experiences from more families who go here but apparently “vax-choice” tolerable.

****************************************************

Whole Family Medicine

Decatur, GA

Marion Owen, MD

www.wholefamilymed.com

Note: I really feel like this would be a great practice for a family concerned about vaccine safety, but Dr. Owen makes it clear on the video on their website that she is more in support for a delayed schedule than a non-vax situation. This is also a membership-type practice and does not take insurance. I would call to discuss your situation with her staff. 🙂

****************************************************

If you are a pediatrician’s office or practitioner in the Atlanta area and you would like to be added to this list, please let me know in the comment section and I’ll add you to the list. 🙂

  1. Family Wellness has a new doctor. Dr. Taylor moved to Florida. The new staff are still supportive of your choices.

I also heard that Dr Akey went to online visits only.

  2. Primary Care Pediatrics Cumming, GA
    Dr. Margaret Boudreaux, MD

They have updated new policies for their office starting January 2024. Also, patients must pay additional fee if parents decide not to vaccinate kids, among other things. New policies can be read on practices website.

  3. I just called Pediatric Partners of GA and their exact words were “we are a pro vaccine office and we do not delay or alter vaccine schedules”

  4. UPDATE NEEDED: Kennesaw Pediatrics is NOT accepting children from home births anymore. We had a home birth recently and they would NOT accept my newborn. They weren’t happy about keeping my children already there but, didn’t kick them out. They are also VERY pushy with the vaccine policy.

  5. Pediatric Associates in Braselton is vaccine friendly. They do make you sign a waiver though, and depending on which DR you get they may say something.
Dr E is wonderful and doesn’t say anything, however she was out one day and we got another Dr and she basically scolded us for not having them.

  6. It is so great to know that there are still some doctors that will honor parents’ choice to not vaccinate their children. It is horrible that insurance companies will not cover these doctors’ practices, so extra kudos to the doctors that step out of that financial sphere. The problem now is the out of cost amount is not something all families can afford. So far, the initial visit fees I was quoted are between $300-$450 and regular visits are $250 and above.

  7. So if we cannot find a pediatrician for our newborn and we homeschool is using urgent care/hospital for serious medical needs the next option?

  8. I just had to say thank you for this info. We recently moved to Monroe GA and I’ve been searching for a place that would listen and respect my decisions for my son. I had to drive an hour and a half to Fayetteville to see Dr. Potts but it was worth it. They were so kind and absolutely amazing with my son who is level 2 ASD. I appreciate the time you spent on this more than I can put into words.

  9. convenant care declined to take my bay as a new patient after they reviewed her chart. they didnt disclose why but im sure it has to do with her not being vax

  10. Dr Potts requires a refusal to vaccinate form. Are there any pediatricians around GA that take insurance but won’t make you sign the refusal form?

  11. God bless you!!! Thank you so much for sharing this info!! I have my 2yr grandson now and his mom was ‘forced’ to give him 4 shots. I really don’t want him vaccinated anymore, especially the jab. I appreciate you way more than I have the vocabulary!!!

  12. Does anyone know of a non vax pediatrician office near Braselton GA?
Also, please be cautious if you decide to try Dr. Laura Bleekrode. I took my children to her under the impression that she would respect my choice not to continue vaccinating my children and she got very confrontational and unprofessional. She insulted me and pressured me until I cried. When I told her I would like to see the vaccine inserts and had questions She then told me that she was Irish and to “bring it on”. She even kissed my daughters head (she was a toddler) it was an I pitty you kiss. How odd to kids a patient. I reported her to the medical board.

    • Just wanted to add that she was the same way with me. Was all about the debate and did a head kiss, told me she has like 8 kids and knows better, said cosleeping will be regretted and you should cry it out until they learn you arent coming for them, I left and never came back. She was pretty nice the first few visits but really turned at the 1 year visit.

    • Did you ever find a doctor? I’m new to all this, a soon to be first time grandma. My daughter is going to be a first time mom. Thank you.

  13. Hello my 2 year is a patient at Potts Pediatrics in Fayetteville Georgia(Dr. Potts)
They ask if you want to vac if you decline they don’t ask again. They are friendly, relaxed & take insurance. A friend of mine who child is not vaccinated says he’s been that way for a long time. The other nurses & doctors are the same way. My daughter who is unvaxed has been going since birth.

  14. I cannot speak more highly of Dr Overcash at All about Kids Pediatrics. We used to drive 45 minutes out of our way just to visit her practice.

  15. I’m so glad I found this list when we moved to Fayetteville! Dr. John Potts office was very understanding about our decision not to vaccinate, and I was also pleasantly surprised to find that they encouraged us exclusively breast-feeding. We co-sleep but they did not ask about where baby sleeps. I also loved the nurses and the front office staff!!

  16. Helping my son and wife find a non-vax doctor. Thank you for taking your time to research and keep this info updated.
Noticed that Pediatric Medicine of Cartersville link you had concerning Dr. Ryan’s statement didn’t work, so I went to FAQs. Found this:
What change will begin on April 1, 2022? Beginning April 1, 2022, Dr. Ryan will no longer participate with any insurance networks nor will our practice be a vaccine provider. https://www.drtomryan.com/faqs

  17. Dr. Hancock of Humanizing Medicine sees all ages and is vax-choice supportive. I send my patients there. He’s in Decatur, and a lovely human being.
    Dr. Liliana Warner, DC
    Lotus of Life Chiropractic

  18. Children’s Wellness Center In Sandy Springs willing to spread out vaccines but it depends on Practitioner. I have scheduled appointment so will see…

    • Hi! I was interested in this office but wondering if they were flexible with you on the vaccine schedule. Did you have any success in finding a doctor here?

  19. Can anyone tell me if it is difficult to get a religious exemption to the childhood vaccine schedule in order to send my kids to school in GA? Thinking about moving from Oregon. Thank you.

    • No it is not difficult at all! You can write it up yourself you just have to get it notarized and say for religious/spiritual beliefs. I saw you asked this a while ago but i thought just in case nobody had answered i could let you know…

  20. About to be new mom in lavonia ga area and I figured I’ll be driving to find a vax friendly pediatrician, any lists or info for South Carolina Greenville area? Or suggestions?

    Thanks!

    • Did you ever find one?
We just moved to Carlton, GA (Madison county) and I’ve been calling places all morning and haven’t found anyone who will accept my little one without vaccines & Medicaid.

    • Usually it helps if you google vaccine choice friendly Ped. I really didn’t really find any googling vaccine friendly. Some says they are but isn’t

  21. Hello! I see Dr McCormick at Tanner Children’s and she used to be on the list. While she does ask about vaccinations, she does not require or push them.

  22. Dr. Ryan in Cartersville does still strongly encourage vaccines and I did not find him to be parent choice friendly. He also gave us a hard time about breastfeeding on demand and is very much about parents doing things HIS way. Just a heads up.

      • Kennesaw pediatrics makes you sign a vaccine waiver if you are choosing non vax or delayed schedule. They do not allow you to annotate or alter their form in any way.
(I was kicked out of their practice because of this).

All gods children in Cartersville is non vax and delayed schedule friendly. They do make you sign a form but the language is MUCH more tolerable, and they allow you to amend it as you see fit.

  23. This is a fantastic resource! Thank you!! Just fyi, Nadia Taylor is no longer at Family Wellness MD, as of Dec 2020. It’s now Kimberly Hodge-Spears.

      • Hello my 2 year is a patient at Potts Pediatrics in Fayetteville Georgia(Dr. Potts)
They ask if you want to vac if you decline they don’t ask again. They are friendly, relaxed & take insurance. A friend of mine who child is not vaccinated says he’s been that way for a long time. The other nurses & doctors are the same way. My daughter who is unvaxed has been going since birth.

  24. We see to covenant care pediatrics in Stockbridge. It really depends on which doctor you see. I see Jessica. And she never gives me any trouble about our choice on vaccines. Although patrick and grace have both been a bit more aggressive towards it, and tends to push back a lot in my decision.

  25. Is Medlock pediatrics in Duluth still taking unvaxx children ? They did about 2 years ago but I’m not sure anymore.

  26. Thank you!!! I have been able to share this info with others. It’s so hard to find a pediatrician who will support parents and not push vaccines. Thank you again and again. I will use this list and make the long drive if we need someone.

  27. Hey just wanted to let you know Pediatric partners of Georgia in Athens is definitely not vaccine choice friendly. We’ve been established with them for two years now and was told with my 3 month old when I came back for the next appointment I needed to have a “reasonable” vaccine plan or we would be told to leave the practice. When I asked questions Dr. McCorkle wouldn’t address them at all.
Thank you for this resource, instead we will be making the drive to see Family Wellness MD.

  28. BROOKHAVEN IN-TOWN PEDIATRICS refuses patients who are not vaccinated and has their policy clearly stated on their website. Please remove them from your list.

  29. Hi Both of the Watkinsville doctors do not do delayed vaccinations as of 7/20/2020. I just called both and you have to accept all vaccinations on time.

  30. Dr. Hiral Lavania, MD at One Family Pediatrics said she refuses patients who are not vaccinated. They require vaccines. Called July/7/2020.

  31. My kids are patients of Dr Overcash and Dr Wilkiemeyer at All About Kids Pediatrics and as of the past few years they have required I sign a vaccine waiver when refusing vaccines even after my sons both had reactions that they reported to VAERS. Just FYI!

    • Absolutely agree with this statement. I’ve been required to sign the waiver. I even noted on the waiver that “I do not agree with these statements” before signing and they discarded that copy and asked that I sign one without or it will not be valid. Was told if I didn’t sign that I would be removed from practice as per their policy. Please also note that Dr. Wilkiemeyer is no longer at the practice.

  32. Would you consider adding whether or not a practitioner requires a waiver? Often the language is is problematic. I know Kennesaw Pediatrics’ one says that you are “knowingly endangering your child and others” by not vaccinating.
