Foods YOU Need! – Cancer Fighting Spices

While fighting cancer, I was strategic to use particular spices in the food I ate. I knew the research on these spices. I knew which spice induced apoptosis (cancer cell suicide)  and which slowed growth of tumors. Over the past couple years I have forgotten the function of these spices and have grown accustomed to adding them into my diet without remembering their awesome healing powers. Here is a brief review for myself and hopefully a quick lesson for you!

Anti-Cancer Foods – Garlic and Onions

It can’t hurt to add more garlic and onions into your recipe rotation. Garlic has been known for its healing properties for thousands of years. It has antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties. Onions are loaded with the bioflavonoid, quercetin, (remember this induces cancer cell suicide and prevents healthy cells from mutating into cancer cells.) Both should have a more prominent role in our cancer fighting cuisine!

Foods YOU Need! – Dark Leafy Greens

I preach the green stuff, but why do I believe in it like I do? Why do I chug down 64oz of it everyday?

Dark Leafy Greens like spinach, kale, romaine, baby lettuces, and chard should all be in our dietary forefront. We may wish they tasted better, but maybe by knowing WHY they are so good for us, we will want to make a better effort to eat them!

Before “The kanser” nothing would enrage me more than people telling me how bad the food I ate was. “I just don’t like the texture of vegetables.” I would say. “They make me gag,” or “I work out everyday so it really doesn’t matter” would be my defense. I now know that it really does matter. When I was fighting my cancer I went through a major food detox. I didn’t use pills or juices exclusively; just raw and living foods. During the 6 month process I was able to avoid these Top 10 preservatives, additives and chemicals by sticking to an organic raw, vegan diet. My body responded and I am now in remission.
