A Day in the Life: Every Maverick Needs A Goose!

PART 3: YOU NEED AN ADVOCATE

If you’re a Top Gun fan I know what you’re thinking: “But Maverick flies great without Goose at the end!” Yeah, you’re right, but Goose (Tom Cruise’s co-pilot for those who aren’t up on their movie trivia) helped him become good enough to fight the bad guys on his own. The point of my cheesy analogy: EVERYONE needs a strong Co-Pilot when BEATING CANCER HOLISTICALLY. It’s REALLY hard to make it on your own.

A Day in the Life: 5 Tips for Cancer Confidence

PART 2: CONFIDENCE IS EVERYTHING!

ATTITUDE makes the biggest difference in overcoming the challenges that come with choosing holistic cancer treatment. If you have visited here often, you probably know at least ONE thing about me: I wholeheartedly believe that holistic/alternative cancer works. But YOU have to believe with ALL of your heart that YOU will get WELL!

A Day in the Life: Beating Cancer My Way

PART 1: A TYPICAL DAY ON MY CANCER FIGHTING REGIMEN

I decided it would be helpful for anyone coming to my site seeking out information on holistic/alternative cancer treatment to know what a typical day would look like on my holistic cancer fighting regimen. It took me a while to get this comfortable and efficient with my daily schedule during that time, but eventually I was able to whiddle my daily routine down to what you see below. I’ve written about many of the elements of my cancer treatment before, so be sure to click on the links if you want to know more.

A Day in the Life: Holistic Cancer Treatment

NEW SERIES: A DAY IN THE LIFE

As I rummage around on the internet, there is a lot of information about what to expect when fighting cancer with chemotherapy and radiation. But what about those treating their cancer with alternative methods? How is it different from those who choose a more conventional path?

Movie: “Cut Poison Burn”

"In the War On Cancer the Disease is Only Half the Battle"

Similar to "Burzynski," the movie which I posted on here a few weeks ago, this is available for only a short amount of time for free viewing. I have to say- I favored it over "Burzynski,"  mainly because it followed one particular family on their cancer journey, adding a personal touch and story line I could relate to. Without giving the ending away, I felt it gave a very realistic portrayal of the cancer process- there aren't only happy endings.

Focused on the history of the cancer industry, FDA, and American Cancer Society and explaining in layman's terms WHY we don't see alternative treatments being funded for research, I think "Cut Poison Burn" is an excellent movie for those familiar with the governmental control of our health care and those just learning about it. But don't be fooled- this is not just a movie bloated with wordy jargon, you will need lots of tissues, as the emotional investment is taxing.

Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski, is interviewed in here along with many politicians, top medical oncologists, patients, and holistic doctors. I viewed it in two separate segments since I kept rewinding to catch the facts the experts were putting out there. Like I said above- get the tissues, the reality of cancer treatment in the United States is exhausting.

Apple and Zucchini Chips

I remember as a little kid when dried apples were a really healthy snack option that you weren’t too excited to eat. Fast forward 20 years and it has become a rare and yummy treat for me! What happened? Well, you know the saying “Baby Changes Everything?” Well, “Cancer Changes Everything,” too. This marked the beginning of my Dehydrator experiment…

Homemade Coconut Oil Deodorant

There are so many different varieties of natural and organic beauty and hygiene products out there, but when you are diagnosed with cancer it is essential to make sure you’re keeping the bad stuff off of your skin and ultimately out of your blood system.

The most concerning of all of these products to me and to many others out there is DEODORANT. Why? Because conventional deodorant is incredibly invasive and toxic. But why are most natural deodorants so disappointing in their performance? I have used many, MANY varieties. I won’t name brands here, but TRUST me when I say I have tried 10 different brands that I can remember and many others that I’m sure were forgettable. AND many of these products were EXPENSIVE!!!! I am so happy to write about my soul-mate of deodorant today. The search is over. I have found THE ONE.

Green Drink Style Lentil-Corn Curry

I have a confession- I have never made Indian food in my life. But this past weekend I was feeling experimental. I had some curry (in my pantry I had ambitiously bought about 9 months ago,) and after playing around with some other spices, came up with this awesome dish. It turned out to be one of the best meals I have made in a while and is somewhat kid-friendly. Husband and Toddler approved!

Eating Healthy On the Go!

If you’ve been to any American mall lately, you could probably tell me the kind of food they have to offer in their food courts: greasy pizza, microwaved subs, poorly Americanized Asian food, you catch my drift. If you have to eat like me (mostly vegan, organic, mostly raw) there aren’t very many options. I did happen to find a “create-your-own-salad” place but it costs more than 12 dollars to order enough food to fill my belly and it’s not even organic. After a spur of the moment idea popped into my head, I believe I have found the solution to this inconvenient problem!
