The last few days since I heard of Bill’s passing have been somber ones. Bill Henderson was my HERO, a grandfather-figure I could listen to all day. Perhaps this is why his book, “Cancer-Free: Your Guide to Gentle, Nontoxic Healing” was the first book I read to make up my mind to pursue natural, nontoxic therapies to heal my cancer…and it’s still my favorite.
Remembering Bill Henderson
January 18, 1932 – July 4, 2016
Bill was gentle but also no-nonsense, comforting but confident and not afraid to make statements about truth. He was caring, curious, and very, very courageous.
He came into the world of alternative cancer after losing his wife Marjorie from four years of conventional treatment for ovarian cancer. After her passing he was convinced there had to be a different, better way to treat cancer. In the late 90’s he began publishing what he learned, initially as newsletters and then an E-book and his work continued to only get better from there. His last published work, the 4th edition of “Cancer-Free” was co-authored with Dr. Carlos Garcia, MD.
I came across Bill’s book in 2008 when it literally landed on my doorstep. My husband had ordered dozens of books to begin research on any alternatives to chemotherapy for my cancer. But Bill’s by far was the best choice for me to read, being an overwhelmed, emotional, newly diagnosed cancer patient who wanted so desperately to protect my fertility from the chemotherapy I was told was my only option.
He wrote in simple terms without leaving out the science that explains the WHY of cancer and alternative cancer therapies. I loved how empowered I became as I read what was the cause of cancer and WHY my doctor didn’t understand much about alternative protocols. As I read “Cancer-Free,” my doubts were reassured with knowledge and confidence that I could beat my cancer without chemotherapy. I also became RELIEVED as I read, convinced that Bill was an honest, well-intended person who was writing books to teach and help people and NOT to make money off of desperate cancer patients.
Many of you who read my blog often know my story…six months after making Bill’s protocol a cornerstone of my own approach to healing naturally, I was declared in clinical remission and there was no physical evidence of tumor bulk. The protocol Bill recommended in his book also allowed me to continue my nontoxic cancer protocol when I became pregnant 4 months after I was diagnosed, and my husband and I now have three beautiful, perfectly healthy daughters. Eight years later I am still cancer free. Without Bill’s research and sweet demeanor coming out in his writing, I don’t know if I would have taken this path.

The Legacy of Bill Henderson
Bill truly did the work that God handed him to do and he did it with confidence and humility. My biggest regret is that I never met him in person. Even though I only interacted with him over the phone and through emails, his memory certainly lives on in me, and I hope to honor his legacy in this ever-expanding world of alternative cancer research and application.
If you’re interested in learning more about what Bill taught and coached, you can connect with those who followed and trusted him most on Facebook at www.facebook.com/groups/billhendersonprotocol. Many of us recovered from our own cancer using Bill’s protocol or are currently doing so today.
And lastly, this is my favorite talk by Bill, given at the Annie Appleseed Conference in 2013. He shines and I can really feel his heart. He was and is just so wonderful.
What a courageous, kind, motivated, leader. Thank you, Bill, for following your passion and calling on this Earth. 🙏🏼
