Many of you know that I don’t eat a lot of fruit in my smoothies, mainly because of the large amount of sugar. Cancer survives off of sugar, so if you want to starve it you have to keep the sweet stuff to a minimum. So what does that leave us? Veggies. But do we really have to have a green smoothie to have a veggie smoothie? No way! Check out today’s great veggie starter smoothie for a nice break from the fruity-ness.
For the last few days, in order to give myself a little “greens break,” I have been drinking an Anti-Green Smoothie. It is a great starter veggie smoothie for those of you who are afraid to abandon your precious fruit smoothies. In my opinion, fruit smoothies have way too much sugar to be drinking everyday. Sure, they are better than eating cookies and chips, but are those the standards you’re holding yourself to? You need to vary it up with some veggies.
If you are fighting cancer I do not recommend this smoothie on a daily basis. Yes, it is highly alkaline but also contains sugar from the carrots, pepper, apple or banana, and tomatoes. Pray or think about it and ask your holistic doctor about whether it is right for you.
The Anti-Green Veggie Smoothie
1 yellow pepper (organic)
1 large tomato
1 cup cauliflower
1/2 cup white beans (cooked or sprouted)
2 large carrots
1 apple or banana
1/8 of a green cabbage (optional if you’re scared…lol.)
1/2 avocado
Blend with desired amount of water and serve COOL. Makes 32-40 oz depending on amount of water added.
I hope you enjoy this one. Drop your comments below and let me know if you try any other variations!
I had to laugh when you mentioned being scared of cabbage, my husband absolutely refuses to put cabbage in his smoothies, he just won’t do it. I on the other hand just hold my nose and gulp it down, lol.
