Happy Saturday Everyone!
Episode 4 did such a great job in teaching about the many ways food combats cancer using its natural, God-given compounds. I was also so grateful to see Ty visit the Hope 4 Cancer Institute in Mexico and learn about how they are different in approaching cancer.
Episode 4 is no longer streaming online, but you can still watch the first two episodes of The Truth About Cancer: A Global Quest for FREE and purchase the entire series HERE.
Here are a few highlights from Episode 4…
3-5 minute marks: Ocean Robbins discusses that less than a third of the medical schools in the U.S. requires LESS than one hour of nutrition study. 19% of our gross domestic product in the U.S. is in pharmaceuticals and medical supplies!!
8 minute mark: Anything with “glutamate” is an excitotoxin. Explanation of MSG and other excitotoxins. – Dr. Russell Blaylock (MSG and other excitotoxins stimulate cancer growth!)
Dr. Blaylock discusses glutamate blockers: flavonoids like curcumin, resveratrol, ellagic acid, etc (from food blocks glutamate.) Cancer cells use glutamine and sugar for fuel…
15 minute mark: Dr. Blaylock’s explanation of why SOY is bad for you, especially if you have cancer!
19-22 minute marks: Dr. (India) explains why fruit is not necessarily too much sugar when eaten as part of cancer fighting diet. Dr. Jockers continues the discussion about glycemic index, glucose, Vitamin C and their effect on the cancer.
27-34 minute marks: Dr. Patrick Quillin talks about all of the different compounds in our food and how they improve our immune systems and fight cancer. (Dr. Quillin’s book “Beating Cancer with Nutrition” was one of my FAVORITE books I read while healing from cancer in 2008. It is so empowering and educational about our food. You won’t look at food the same after reading it!)
35-49 minute marks: Dr. Ben Johnson, Dr. Mercola, Laura Bond, Dr. Bradford Weeks, Dr. Patrick Quillin- more information on anti-cancer foods and how they work to protect the body from cancer and killing cancer cells. Chaga mushrooms, broccoli sprouts, grapefruit…
50 minute mark: Aspartame (sweetener in diet sodas and gum, etc)- why it’s dangerous, citing studies and fraud in the FDA approving it.
55 minute mark: Diet soda and weight gain, discussion of leptin. (Aspartame actually stimulates weight gain and appetite!!!)
56-60 minute mark: Dr. Robert Scott Bell- Splenda/ sucralose and its horrible effects on your gut flora, causes headaches, DNA damage. Selenium (as food form) for use to combat cancer. (I ate brazil nuts for their high selenium content and put them in my smoothies as well.)
01:02 mark: Sonophoto Dynamic therapy (sound therapy explained) by Dr. Tony Jimenez.
1:08-1:11 mark: survivor story (bladder cancer metastasized to the liver)
1:11 mark: Pulsating Electromagnetic Field Therapy (Hope 4 Cancer Institute- Tijuana, Mexico.) Infrared saunas, hyperthermia therapy (cancer cells are heat sensitive, normal cells are heat resistant…) WATCH this segment if you have a palpable tumor- interesting statistics about the use of external hyperthermia therapy combined with Sonophoto dynamic therapy. (Sorry if I butchered some of these names- there weren’t subtitles. 🙂 )
1:17 mark: Trina Hammack Stage 4 Ovarian cancer survivor story (knew she would never do the chemotherapy path. She only had surgery.)

Did I hear dr belay lock say black beans were NOT good for you?
UGH, something like that. When I get time I need to look into this. I saw a few people chatting about it on a Facebook page the day after this episode came out.
This episode made me cry. The doctor that wanted her mom to use natural treatments but her mom wouldn’t and didn’t survive made me realize that could have been me.
I’m of the better late than never camp. I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in January. I followed conventional treatment through the first of what was supposed to be eight rounds of chemo. Then my light bulb went on and I researched. I feel so grateful to have gotten away from that before it was too late. My treatment plan would have been completed about three weeks ago and I cannot imagine the shape I would be in. I don’t even want to think what that would have done to my children witnessing it all. The diagnoses and hospitalizations were scary enough. I doing great with my protocol/plan and have already lost 20 pounds. I was thankful to find your website among a few others to give me the courage to walk away from conventional treatment.
I was “sad” when they were talking about glutamates and he said black beans were high in it. Bummer…… also, I sure would love if Dr. Quillin came to my house and helped me start a garden. That guys yard is awesome.
Many blessings to you and your family
Hi Jeri- WOW, it sounds like you’re doing amazing! I know, I hated that part about glutamine and black beans too. I think it was a random factoid and there are plenty of other benefits of black beans. You know how it is with all of this alt cancer stuff….EVERYTHING seems to be bad for us in one or another! 🙂
