This past Fall I received an email from Suzy Griswold, a holistic thyroid cancer survivor also living here in Atlanta. I was so excited to meet someone in-person with the same background/experience in cancer treatment I had! We met up over green tea in December when she shared with me her God-given desire to create a cancer retreat that would support/educate people about non-toxic therapies with all glory given to God.
I couldn’t have been more on board or excited at the prospect of bringing people together to learn about cancer therapies that would RESTORE and HEAL the body, all while praising the one who HEALS us!
Healing Strong Conference and Retreat: Atlanta September 13-15, 2013
Healing Strong 2013 is a faith-based retreat located near the heart of Atlanta, Georgia in a beautiful setting on the Chattahoochee River. Beginning on Friday evening, September 13th at 7:00, and continuing through Sunday, September 15th at noon, we will provide interactive, engaging sessions by board certified medical practitioners, nutritionists, naturopaths, best-selling authors and cancer researchers, along with testimonies of hope by cancer thrivers who have utilized non-toxic therapies.
Participants will have an opportunity to interact with our conference speakers in small group sessions, as well as engage in interactive discussions with our patient panelists. The entire weekend is devoted to helping you.
On Saturday evening, we will be offering a very special “Night of Worship” with live music, singing, prayer, and praise by very special guests. This is a weekend that touches a patient’s mind, body and soul. We can’t wait to meet you and share this experience with you.
Healing Strong is 100% driven by volunteers, all of whom have been impacted personally by cancer. From the kitchen angels who will be working with the retreat center to prepare healthy, delicious meals to the prayer team who have been meeting and praying together for months leading up to the event, to the volunteer fundraisers who are working behind the scenes, the hope of the team for Healing Strong is that each participant will walk away knowing they have been empowered in a manner that was loving and hope-filled.

Hello,
This conference sounds amazing and inspirational. I would love to attend and share it with other people. It is a shame that you have scheduled this during the Jewish High Holiday of Yom Kippur . If you could record this event that would be wonderful.
I know you have alot of people scheduled to speak but maybe if you do this in the future you could try not to schedule this important comference during Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur or Passover. Thanks so much . Please let me know if a recording will be made available. Warmest Regards and Appreciation, J
Hi Judy! Thank you for bringing that up. We will definitely be conscious of this if we have a Healing Strong conference in the future. Yes- we are planning on having a recording, most likely to be streamed from the Web. Please check back to our website and sign up on http://www.healingstrong.com/conference to receive updates (upper right side.)
diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma of the rt kidney which has now spread throughout my body and need to attend…refused chemo so far and due to start soon and do not want to…need your help before the Sept 13 seminar…have tried several natural remedys….thanks Dan
My question is is the place where is going to take place a Hotel? It is easy to get there? since I will came from PA (flight) I was wondering if there is transportation provided shuttle or I need to take a taxi or???. Also, I didn’t see the price/fee for the three days. Thank you.
Hi Celia- the location is actually a retreat center with modern rooms similar to a hotel. Accommodations are double occupancy (meaning you will share a room with another attendee.) The rooms are nice and hotel style with a bathroom inside and two beds in each room. See: http://www.simpsonwood.org/pages/detail/1555. For prices, see http://www.healingstrong.com/register and click on “Register.”
If you would rather stay off-site in a hotel, you can purchase the day retreater ticket and get your own hotel and transportation to and from Simpsonwood if that works better.
As far as transportation from the airport goes, we will be offering a shuttle to and from the MARTA (Atlanta’s public transportation train) station at certain times on the Friday and Sunday of the conference. When you register, we will work this out on an individual basis.
I would love to attend this conference (I am a uterine cancer thriver using healthy alternatives and a faith in divine healing) but cannot because I am caring for my 91-year old mother. Would it be possible to tape the conference and sell the tapes and/or allow people to view it live via the internet? I know that Hay House sometimes does this with conferences and you can pay to view the speakers. That would be wonderful for those of us who are not able to travel to Atlanta.
Lorna in Canada
Hi Lorna, that’s wonderful to hear you are doing so well and are a thriver! We do have plans to record the event and will be posting updates on GreenDrinkDiaries.com and on HealingStrong.com with information on that when it is available.
Cortney
Are there any other retreats scheduled for this year? Thank you.
Hi Olivia- this is the first and only (so far) Healing Strong event. (: With a strong turn out, maybe they’ll be more?
I have been checking your site in hopes to see news about your baby. Hope all is well and my prayers are with you and your beautiful family.
My daughter would like to go to the Conference in Sept. but her baby is due Aug. 5 and I was wondering if she can’t make it after she signs up for it will there be a refund if she can’t go because too soon after delivery? She said it will be ok, but I know her and she might not want to leave the baby to attend the conference that she really needs to attend. She won’t do the overnight stay because she lives in Newnan. But, I was wondering if she can’t make it at all after we sign up for it.
Thank you for taking the time to answer me, take care and thank you so much Cortney,
Rosa
Hi Rosa! Let me share your situation with our Healing Strong board and will let you know. I’m pretty sure we can accomodate her situation. (: I’ll let you know via email!
